Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 17th, at 6:30 pm, at St. Luke Church, Bloomsburg.

Our program will be an Introduction to Fermenting presented by Kristin Pfleegor.

The Herb of the Month will be Oregano, studied by John S.
*
The August program was a tour of the Barton House Gardens presented by the caretakers of the garden from our own Herb Guild. 
*
What a lot of effort and love go into maintaining this historic garden as it would have originally been used at the Barton House. Thanks to the committee for an interesting program.

Signups are happening now for the Herb Workshops
on October 17th and November 19th. These will be led by Susan Morris (who was here in the Spring for a workshop for our guild). 
*
There is a fee for each class and space is limited. Please pay when you register at the September meeting. Details are on the Herb Workshops web page.

Consider joining the Town Park Garden, Christmas Favors, Christmas Party, Fair Exhibit or the Barton House Garden. There are many ways to get involved with the Herb Guild.

See Bonnie B to help with the Fair Exhibit. That event is coming up and help is needed to assemble and tear down the display in the Agriculture Building.

Our digital videographer, Doug C, has a knife sharpening business. If you bring your blades that need sharpening, he will return them to you in like- new condition for a reasonable price.  
In April Sue Morris of Sue’s Salves, led a workshop for our guild. Participants learned about the medicinal properties of calendula and roses, and made a cream, lip butter and a bug repellent bar to take home.

Sunshine Committee
In need of a little sunshine? If you know someone 
in our guild that needs cheering up (maybe in the 
hospital or had a death in the family) or 
(getting married or having a milestone birthday), 
let Brenda know at auckersapiary@verizon.net and 
she will pass this along to the Sunshine Committee 
(JoAnn L and Jean) to let our friends know we care.
Don't forget to save your flower, herb and vegetable seeds for the Bloomsburg Seed Library. They can be dropped off at the Bloomsburg Public Library or give to Diana B. Sorted seeds are available at no cost.
